Barry Sheene Festival at Oliver’s Mount

Barry Sheene Festival at Oliver’s Mount

It was a great weekend of racing at Sorrymate’s sponsored circuit Oliver’s Mount for this year’s Barry Sheene Festival.

With reigning champion and Cock O’The North winner Dean Harrison on British Superbike duty, David Bell took full advantage by claiming the illustrious Barry Sheene Trophy.

There were also multiple wins for Daley Mathison, Jamie Coward, Steve & Matty Ramsden, Joey Thompson, James Cowton and Ian Stanford during a very competitive weekend of racing.

However, the highlight of the event involved Sheene’s son Freddie and 1981 British Superbike Champion Steve Parrish.

Sheene’s 1976 and 1977 World title-winning bikes were both restored for the event and were ridden by the pair in a special parade session.

We now turn our attention to the final Oliver’s Mount meeting of the calendar year, the Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup, which will take place near the end of September.
