Silverstone Sensation for Sorrymate Siblings

Endurance racing brothers Broderick and Bruce Wilson rounded off the fifth round of the No Limits Racing Open 600 championship with a fifth successive win on the Silverstone International circuit. Despite neither of the sorrymate.com riders having seen the track before, they were both quick to get up to pace in qualifying and concluded the 40-minute timed session as the fastest 600cc riders amongst the 54 teams on the grid. “The track is relatively short and fast”, explained Bruce, “made all the trickier by a number of acute angled hairpins and chicanes. Learning the track was easy enough, but learning how to ride it fast was a different challenge altogether.”

Having made a strong start in the 3 hour race, the brothers were placed 11th overall, the fastest of the 600 class, by the point they changed riders at the one hour point. Broderick was second into the saddle and put in a fantastic performance to set the team’s fastest lap on their Yamaha R6. “I just happened to gel really well with Silverstone, so felt pretty comfortable out there banging in quicker and quicker times”, told Broderick. “The biggest challenge was getting some free space on track, as there were so many bikes out there competing”.

Bruce concluded he final stint of the race, crossing the line a substantial way in front of the nearest rivals and claiming their fifth win from five races. The team sits in first place in the championship standings, with the potential to clinch the championship title at the next round in the series, held at the brothers’ local track Cadwell Park.
