Team FastBikes powered by Sorrymate.com Races to a 6 Lap Win

Oulton Park played host to round two of the No Limits Racing endurance championship, which saw 32 teams line-up for the start of the 3-hour long event. Team Fast Bikes, powered by Sorrymate.com, made the best of a limited and wet qualifying session to achieve an 11th place start. “We got a bit of wet track time at the first round”, explained Bruce, “so we had a reasonable base-setup to work from. The track is very technical and the pace is massively fast in sections, so you really have to consider how and where you get the hammer down.”

By the time of the race, the track was still sufficiently wet for most teams to edge their bets with full rain tyres, but Broderick and Bruce opted to chance the circuit with dry tyres. As the race got underway, a strong start saw the team shoot up into sixth place overall and by the 13th lap the Sorrymate.com backed team had taken the outright lead, eventually pulling a two-lap advantage over the pursuing combination of 600cc and 1000cc machines. “Bruce rode for the first hour”, told Broderick, “so by the time I got out to complete my hour on track, the surface conditions had become much more favourable. By this point we had a 3-lap lead over the next nearest 600cc team and I just worked hard on getting myself into a rhythm, and not making any mistakes”. By the two hour point, the team had a 10-lap lead over their rivals and it would have been larger had the bike’s oil light not have come on. Bruce was back on-board by this point and pitted to get the level of essential liquid topped-up in pitlane. As it happened, the team were then told they had to wait out a further 6 minutes before being able to return to the track, owing to a minimum pitstop period ruling. This cost the team dearly in the overall standings, but as Broderick powered the bike over the line at the end of the three-hour race, the brothers still managed to beat off the opposition by a whole six laps. “Oulton Park was a great round for us and our second win of the season has really bolstered our championship standings”, said Bruce.
