Olympic Team GB champion Bradley Wiggins and the GB coach, Shane Sutton have both been injured in separate cycling incidents.
Wiggins was injured close to Wigan, Lancashire but was later released from the hospital with a fractured rib.
Sutton was involved in an incident on the A6 in Manchester this morning. A spokesperson has informed the press that the collision was serious, but that Sutton should be fine.
Both Wiggins and Sutton are active campaigners for safe cycling and British Cycling Director, Martin Gibbs said following the incident that we have a long way to go for Britain to see cyclists as more than an “add-on” to the traffic.
