Michael Dunlop has beaten Suzuki’s Guy Martin by 11.5 seconds in the Scarborough Gold Cup race.
Martin looked as though he might take his ninth Scarborough victory after six laps but Dunlop did what he did best in the last remaining laps and overtook Guy Martin for the win. This is the first time the Ballymoney man has won this race.
Dunlop also took a victory in one of the 250cc races and finished the event with three other podium finishes. Martin, on the other hand, won at Saturday’s Supersport and Superbike 600cc races.
Dunlop beat his brother William for the 250cc win and also beat the retiring Ian Lougher, however Lougher won in the second race.
