My case is already being dealt with by another solicitor. Can I switch to you?
You can switch solicitors at any time. If you are not happy with your current solicitor, or perhaps you want a solicitor who specialises in your particular accident type, all you need to do is phone us and tell us you would like to switch.
How easy is it to change solicitors?
It’s fairly simple. All you need to do is call us and we will take a few simple details from you. You then need to sign a document to say that you give your permission for us to deal with the case and then we will take it from there. We will get in touch with your previous solicitor for you so you don’t have to talk to them if you don’t want to.
Does this happen often?
Around 25% of our clients are people who have switched to us from another solicitor. In most cases it’s because their insurance company provided them with a firm they weren’t happy with, or generally that the solicitor didn’t thoroughly understand their case. A lot of people come to us for the expertise and enthusiasm we can offer.
My current solicitor is charging me a success fee… Is that right?
Yes. Unfortunately, since April, solicitors have had to take a small percentage of the client’s compensation in order to cover costs. Before April the other party would pay but a new law was passed to stop this.
What success fee do you charge?
The majority of firms charge 25%. We charge 15%.
Why should I switch?
Taking legal action after an accident is about a lot more than just the compensation. Depending on the circumstances of your accident, it is as much about aftercare and support as it is about claiming your compensation. You should be happy with your solicitor dealing with the financial side of the claim as well as feeling comfortable enough to approach them with questions stretching from your health to legal concerns you may have. If you’re not entirely comfortable and happy with your current solicitor, it’s likely that you will benefit from a change.
