The weather was glorious at Donington Park last weekend for the 1st Round of the National Superstock 600, where the sun was beating down on the track. Matt and Kurt were in fine spirits going into the race. The conditions were Cloudy and Dry and the circuit was running well.
Matt had qualified in 31st Position on the Sunday with best lap time of 1:36.553 and Kurt qualified in 26th Position with best lap time of 1:36.323. The Race got off to a storming start into Redgate corner. Unfortunately Matt came into Craner Curves and fell on the first lap.
Kurt had a great race, starting in 26th Position he had a belting ride, blasting out the competition to finish in 17th Position with best lap time of 1:36.651 averaging top speeds of 89.19 mph.
Kurt only finished 1.31 seconds off the Race Winner, which was a significant and excellent improvement on last year’s results, which saw Kurt finish 4 seconds behind the Race Winner. He has come far this year and his preparations are paying off.
It was a very promising opener for the season, great to see the boys on great form. It gives great confidence for the Sorrymate.com Wigley Racing Camp heading into Brands Hatch in 2 weeks time, where we can hope for even more improvements on these results.
Well done Boys from all at Sorrymate.com and see you at Brands Hatch.
