Endurance Team Season Review 2017
05/01/2018 Endurance Team Season Review 2017

It was a hugely successful season for Sorrymate’s Endurance Team as they secured the No Limits Racing ACU National Endurance 600 crown in a dominant campaign.

Gaz Evans and Colin Norris were the regular riders during the year, with notable contributions from Gary Johnson and Daniel Drayton, helping the team to achieve a comfortable 43-point margin at the top of the UK’s only National Endurance Championship.

The season opened up at Silverstone in March, with the team producing a solid second place finish, although they faltered in the following round at Brands Hatch by sliding to seventh.

However, that result proved to be the first and final time that Sorrymate would miss out on a podium in 2017 as they responded with two excellent wins in terrible weather conditions in May and July at Donington Park, as well as another second position at Anglesey Coastal, where the team climbed to the top of the championship standings.

And they refused to relinquish control of the competition having hit the front, registering a third win at Snetterton in between third place finishes at Cadwell Park and Croft that saw Sorrymate seal the title with a race to spare.

The team celebrated in style with another podium to cap off a sensational year, claiming a haul of 176 points out of a possible 225 from the nine rounds to see off the challenge of closest contenders Double Two Racing and Fastbikes – Kime Racing.

A big thanks is due to the Sorrymate riders, pit crew and their incredibly supportive family and friends who made the victory possible through their hard work and dedication.
